I'm Back!

Sort of.

Okay, I actually never went anywhere, but life dropped in with a vengeance. I had planned on doing NaNoWriMo in November. Then I learned from my current landlord that my family and I had to move to a new place in the next 40 days. They were selling, and wanted the property on the market by January 1st, but wanted us out by December 1st so they could prepare the property for showings. The holiday's are probably the worst time to be looking for a new place to live. It actually wasn't until November 25th that we found a place that fit our needs, and were approved to sign the lease. Blah, blah, blah-It sucked!

Anyways, enough bullshit. Life happens, and you deal.

Also, I need to communicate a change in my plans for this blog. This site is my web presence for my writing, and I will keep it updated on the status of my works in progress (WIP). The blog, however, will not be updated daily (not like that was happening anyways). I recently listened to a couple podcast episodes from Hide and Create that talked about blogging for writers. The two episodes are titled Writing Blogs with Jim C. Hines, part 1 and 2. Jim is a fantasy author, and has a well read blog.

These were great podcast episodes, and I highly recommend them.

The big take away for me was what are you getting out of your blog. Do I have a massive readership? No. Do I have multiple works of fiction to offer visitors to my site, and the blog is a way to bring in possible new readers? No. Would my time be better spent writing new fiction? Yes.

There you have it. I need to write, but my time spent writing will pay greater dividends by working on my stories.

Will I still blog? Yes. Definitely, but it will be when I have something to say, or share. Not because I think daily blog posts will make me an international success when I have nothing to sell or promote.

The "Legends Among Us" series will continue. I'm a martial artist, and this series is a fun way for me to share great videos of martial artists, athletes and daredevils. It will not be a regular weekly post. It will be when I see something that wows me.

So, that's about it for now. If you are one of the few that come by, and see this; thank you.

Now, it's time to get some work done.

Write!
